Özenç Çetinkaya is a PhD researcher in the Department of Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University. She holds a BA in Sociology and in Political Science & International Relations from Boğaziçi University, and an MA in Comparative Studies in History and Society from Koç University.

Her research interests include the anthropology of infrastructure and urban anthropology. Currently, she works on infrastructural mega projects in Istanbul, with an emphasis on the lived experience of waiting for these projects. She is interested in questions of citizenship and statehood as they are constructed and interpreted through urban mega projects and infrastructure.
